A Christmas Miracle

A Christmas Miracle

Hey there,

I pray that you are doing well and enjoying this Christmas season!

I have to be honest with you all. I’ve had a really hard time adjusting to the Christmas season, or any holiday for that matter since I came to Korea. It used to mean days spent with my family enjoying their company, their food, their support and encouragement. But, I haven’t been able to share this time with them in almost 6 years now. My family here in Korea is amazing and I thank God for them every day, but as I am sure most of you know, nothing can replace your family. Another thing I realized early on was that I placed a lot of my happiness during the holidays on the presents and the food, etc. But, I don’t get those anymore. That really depressed me A LOT. To be honest, while everyone else is getting excited and ready to celebrate Christmas I just bear down and hope it goes by quickly.

A couple of years ago God really impressed upon me some very important information. And although I still struggle with this time of year, like many of us out there, I found something that fills me with so much more joy than any gift or meal ever did.

IT’S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Maybe you don’t see, right? You’ve read or heard this verse a hundred million bazillion times. It’s time that we made some changes in the way we see Christ during this season. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ. Yeah, I know, you’re probably saying. So, what’s new…

YOU cannot help yourself. You cannot redeem your own sins. Jesus HAD to come. God had to send him as the only possible sacrifice to redeem us from our sins. He didn’t come so that we could have this super awesome time to give each other a bunch of presents. That’s merely another measure of grace that comes along with the real gift. It’s a CHRISTmas miracle, you know? Something only God could have done.

So, if you are feeling a little lonely, a little depressed, a little colder this season, just remember the miracle that was done for YOU. Not by you, but FOR you. It was the most precious gift could ever have given us. It’s for you, and if you want to give someone else a great gift this year, tell them about this CHRISTmas Miracle!

Spend some time with Jesus this season. Let us know below if you have something special God taught you during this special season!
